The leader company of the Pro Urbe Group was founded in the year of the political and economic changing of Hungary in the year 1990. In the beginning the core activity was connected to the urban transport and settlement planning. In the year 1992 owners of the Pro Urbe Company established Pro Via Engineering Ltd., out of necessity of other engineering projects excluding urban infrastructure planning. In close cooperation, the two companies did their best to suit the challenges of the market. The wider range of activities and the higher number of the employees come along with a successful operation, which allowed to purchase an own office in 1995. The company’s planning activity spread from the capital to other big cities.

In 2010 the Pro Urbe Ltd. got its first international award due to a project in the capital, the plan of the integrated terminal of Hűvösvölgy (bus and tram stations). Hungary’s join to the European Union made some essential changes in the planning process. The project development approach and complexity got a significant role. Thanks to this, the importance of the cooperation with the related professions increased. It developed a close cooperation with Terra Stúdió Ltd. The necessity and the usefulness of the cooperation made the owner of Pro Urbe Ltd. to decide to purchase the design- and research capacity of Terra Stúdió Ltd. As a result of this transaction, in 2014 Pro Urbe Ltd. became exclusive owner of Terra Stúdió Ltd.

The company retains its self-identity even after a change in the ownership. It will carry its projects in progress, as a successor it will use the previously acquired references in public procurement in close cooperation with Pro Urbe Ltd. The main motivation of Pro Urbe Ltd. owners’ decision was the takeover of the highly developed knowledge at Terra Stúdió Ltd. and its integration in engineering projects. As a result, this group contains the expertise of the project generation from ideas, understanding and modelling processes and detailed elaboration of projects at all level.
